Fire at Women's Aid Organisation's Child Care Center

Posted on 15 November 2016
One of Women's Aid Organisation's shelters was affected by fire yesterday. A lightning strike hit the building in a freak accident and caused extensive damage. All staff and residents were quickly evacuated and none were injured. All are now in a safe and secure place.

We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the Pasukan Bomba dan Penyelamat from the SS2 Jabatan Bomba for their quick response and support to us all. We are also overwhelmed by the outpouring of generous support from the community during this difficult time.

WAO remains committed to continue providing our services to women and children surviving violence. We expect to be back in full operations very soon and look forward to continuing our important and impactful work for women, children and our communities.

We would be really grateful for support and assistance at this time.
