WAO Sexual Assault Helpline

From September 8, 2002, WAO have extended our services to include a helpline specifically for sexual assault survivors. This is to provide a safe and confidential space for survivors of rape, incest, child sexual abuse or any other forms of sexual assault to talk about their experiences, get emotional support, information and advice on the range of options and help available.

"Rape is limited to insertion of the penis into the vagina of a woman against her will. If she is under 16 years of age, sex with or without her consent is statutory rape."

"Sexual assault includes, but is not limited to, forced anal sex, insertion of objects into the vagina, mouth or anus."

Sexual assault is a traumatic experience.
All survivors respond differently.
It's okay to feel whatever it is that you may be feeling.

You don't have to go through it alone.

Call or write to us. We offer our support, and can suggest ways to help you cope. We can also provide you information about your options, and where to get further help.
